the bears must be sopping
Oct. 27th, 2004 04:11 amand the deer must be damp
this rain will cause mopping
and mud thus to tramp
it's certainly welcome
but wow, it's a LOT
and tho me toe's chilly
it's better than hot :>
the forest now teeming
with drippy squirrel tails
and all the surprises
the rain brings to snails
so bring on the shprinkles
and fireplace glow
it feels just so right
to be back here, once mo' ..

Date: 2004-10-27 05:43 pm (UTC)But it gives us a thrill.
The woods are so deathly quiet,
The animals are still.
Humans say they love the rain,
But in my experience,
Humans love to watch the rain,
While warm, far from drenched.
Soaking bears, wet squirrels tails,
Snail's and damp deer!
The little creatures of the earth,
Soaked from ear to ear.
But then the water from the skies,
It breaks and clouds do part.
Sunlight streams through the trees
And its warmth lifts all their hearts.
But the clouds depart, the sun may shine.
These signs help foster hope,
But none of the creatures of the earth,
Will sing until a final sign is shown.
Then all across the damp landscape,
The creatures sing and cheer,
Looking up, they see the sign,
That the skies are truly clear.
It's not the clear sky, or the sun.
That cheers their tiny hearts.
But the magnificent image in the sky,
Of an eagle taking flight.
