Do a virus/spyware scan, then do a Backup.
If you don't have a backup system, at least use CDRs.
Or get a backup system.
2. Make a Restore Point.
If your system is too old to have this built-in, get Norton GoBack.
I've seen way too many people hurt lately by the torture if dying computers.

I got a basic 40G AcomData one on sale a couple years ago, and I know I should do backups more often... I figure once a week for businesses at the least, and once a month for home systems is a good target. Sometimes it's about 6 months before I get to it, but I try not to push it much farther, and most important, get a good fresh backup of each new system for at least a working base to fall back on in a worst case scenario.
