gastroenteritis

I've had food poisoning before... tends to last 4 to 6 hours... no fun... but this gastroenteritis is a new bag for me... it lasts DAYS... and leaves you just wondering when you'll be able to eat again... ;P

Think I got it from a food handler at Del Taco .. have not had a problem there before but it will give me a lot to think about considering whether I should ever go to that particular one again..

Saw doc, got some meds, and currently on diet of bread and jello ;P

Knock on wood I've never had this, just the usual 24 hour purge bug. I generally get the bug once or twice a year, too, but am overdue for my next nasty bout!

Thanks for the good wishes... food poisoning seems to hit harder and faster.. so beyond wondering when I'll eat normally again, it's uncomfortable but not searing jabs to the gut. Here's hoping you never get it, and maybe you'll get out of the one for which you are overdue as well!

Egh.. yep, had that once. Botulism, maybe? Quite painful for multiple days.. and of course, we were on holiday at the time, so that meant we got to enjoy about two or three days of the week. At least we (Mum and I) were in good enough shape to travel back. =:/ (In our case, it was utter stupidity on everyone's part - the culprit was a chicken kebab. Which wasn't being stored refrigerated, but rather, just on display in the vendor's stall.. O.o;;

Ohh nasty, that sort of thing puts you off eating forever almost. I hope you got over it before Christmas.
