Tuesday is bargain movie night. It's a half or even a third of the price to go to the show at local theaters here, so I saw some pix this and last Tuesday.

Gravity was so-so. Very predictable, poor dialogue, and a character (even though everyone displayed pretty good acting) that insists on doing everything wrong... sooooo frustrating to sit through that.

Free Birds was quite a bit better. And though the dialogue wasn't echelons better, the visuals were charming, the story was uplifting, and if you accept the level of magic that must be believed to enter the belief-mode for the established world it lives in, it delivers a pretty sweet and lightweight reward.
...and a story that wants you to eat more pizza ;D

Yes, that's why the Birds movie was sponsored by Chuck E. Cheese's.

You didn't like Gravity?! How could you not like Gravity! I haven't even seen it and I think it's the best movie ever! I'll never own or watch it, but DAMN, Academy Awards CENTRAL! The acting was just. WOW. My friends all said so!

( sorry, I couldn't resist. D: )

The company I interned with made the birds movie or did something major on it... not sure... not ready to go see it...as I am still kicking myself for getting hospitalized and dropping there job offer.

Thank you! I worked with them back in 2003. Probably TMI...but... Came close to fainting one day from blood loss...went to the ER discovered I had "girl" tumors, which turned out benign. Waited several months for a surgeon willing to remove without a hysterectomy while the doctors managed the blood loss. But I was not able to do much of anything and paired down my activities to almost nothing until the surgery. The job offer went by the wayside waiting for the surgery and recovering from it. I was probably quieter than I should have been saying what was going on out of embarrassment. Discovered a few years later the guys who made the offer were a bit pissed off I'd not accepted and been more excited about it. I maybe told one person I was actually about to be in surgery and recovery.
