a musical retro moment
Apr. 24th, 2008 02:47 amA fun 1960s power-packed punch of classical sight and sound! The Flirtations
I have both the LP and 45single of this record ^v^
And from the department of long-hair memories (or that 70s show)... if you lived through any of that, you probably had it at one time, both fun and bit of embarrassing at the same time... :D ... and it grows differently on all of us... mine went a lot like John Fogerty's ...*beak blush*
Speaking of ole music, how many of ya have ever . . . .

At Discus in the Carrefour Laval shopping mall, you'd walk to the rear of the store where behind a giant tacky sign saying "45" was a man behind his counter. A typed list of titles was glued to the counter. You'd ask for a number, the clerk would seek it and come back with the single. I can't remember if you'd pay him the $1.40 or pay near the exit at the main cash register. I was like 9 or 10 years old. I could also buy my 45s at Miracle Mart for $1.25 but their selection wasn't as good. Later years, the 45s would be placed in a rack by number and you'd pick it yourself.
*cricklecrackle* of the runout groove

I'd really like some of the ol blues and 40's dance music on vinyl.
