A fun 1960s power-packed punch of classical sight and sound! The Flirtations
I have both the LP and 45single of this record ^v^

And from the department of long-hair memories (or that 70s show)... if you lived through any of that, you probably had it at one time, both fun and bit of embarrassing at the same time... :D ... and it grows differently on all of us... mine went a lot like John Fogerty's ...*beak blush*

Speaking of ole music, how many of ya have ever . . . .

Unfortunately, I'm too young for those things... I grew up with casette tapes and CDs.

I haven't personally bought vinyl, though my dad still has his old records up in the attic - including a War Of The Worlds one :)

It's been a long, long time, but yes, I have. I seem to recall it was "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron," actually.

I've also transferred many, many to cassette from other people's collections over the years. ;)

You're lucky to still have a functioning 8-track player. };-)

Good music. :)

Not only I bought 45s at a store, but I experienced one of the last behind-the-counter places in my home town in the late 70s. At Discus in the Carrefour Laval shopping mall, you'd walk to the rear of the store where behind a giant tacky sign saying "45" was a man behind his counter. A typed list of titles was glued to the counter. You'd ask for a number, the clerk would seek it and come back with the single. I can't remember if you'd pay him the $1.40 or pay near the exit at the main cash register. I was like 9 or 10 years old. I could also buy my 45s at Miracle Mart for $1.25 but their selection wasn't as good. Later years, the 45s would be placed in a rack by number and you'd pick it yourself.

a lot of my favorite bands TODAY put out limited and wonderful looking 45's and LPs... As a collector and music appreciator, I can't help but love your post, and reading the replies... I just recently trashed my 8 track player due to non-functionality!

But yeah... I think a modifier should be included: How many of you have bought a 45 in the last 30 days? :)

I bought a few, maybe a dozen, but the only one I can recall is Weird Al's "King of Suede"

Heck yeah! A BUNCH of them. And I'm currently in the process of transferring them to MP3 format. :)

When I was a kid, my dad bought me this great 45 RPM player that had a slot in it. You'd just slip the 45 in and it would play automatically! It was portable, too! I used to listen to it constantly. I think I wore out my 45 single of the Beatles "Come Together". :3

Can't say that I've bought one in the past 30 days, but I *have* purchased "recent" 45's like you describe!

I bought 45's when the only choices were vinyl, 8-tracks, or casettes! Whee! I'm old!

The warmth of vinyl man.

You can still buy new vinyl here but it's naturally more expensive than cds.
I'd really like some of the ol blues and 40's dance music on vinyl.

I'm "too young" too, but that didn't stop me from getting a copy of the Isley Brothers' Live It Up a few months ago. :)

PS: I like the icon. :)
