Usually Macs are safe from software invasions, like the latest rootkit attack by Sony, but apparently not (if you are running system X anyway). :/

The Mac version is NOT the same 'rootkit' as on the PC. A couple of Sony CDs had some different DRM software that also installed a couple of Mac components. This Mac one is easily detected and deleted, unlike the PC 'rootkit' version.

And remember, there were a couple of viruses on the older Mac OS versions that used the 'Autorun a program from an inserted CD' feature to install themselves. You were supposed to turn that option off....
