Nov. 6th, 2005 06:10 amdiscoveries I've made recently has been http://www.anticapslock.com/
...where they have blazed the trail in saving us frOM THE evILS of cAPSLoCK! :D
One good friend here (
sennard) actually wrote one I used for years, but it only worked on WIN95... I loved it though, and have been looking for another good one since .. *warble*
The one I have been testing is at http://www.taniwha.org.uk and it works great on the mac!
Hopefully one of those at the first site can help some of you out too...
take care!

Date: 2005-11-07 02:32 am (UTC)I use X a lot when I'm working, but I still use 9 most of the time at home for personal computing, cuz it jus' saves mee $1,000s on not havin' to gitta lotta new software :9 *wags* ...and this is the first dependable capslock killer that I've found for 9. I haven't tested any of the WIN ones yet, but they are probably good too, although most of those appear to have a cost attached.
Tanx for reading n commenting!

Date: 2005-11-07 08:16 am (UTC)Older (ADB) macintoshes had a typewriter style keyboard, wherein the caps lock could not be activated unless one consciously pushed it down into a locked position, thus, the caps LOCK.
Newer cheaper (USB) keyboards have removed this feature, and so if one never used caps lock, it's nice to have it disabled.
When I need caps, I usually just use the Shift key.
