The other day I got a series of "hard drive damage" errors before it then crashed wickedly. Thus, I haven't had much time to catch up with LJ for the last couple days, since I've been doing backups and diagnostic checks.
I really thought it was going to discover bad media sector(s), but all checked out okay... so it was probably a bad directory read-write of some kind, induced by I.E. (which I rarely use).
Still... it was good to get everything backed up (not just select files as usual).

I was already psychin' myself up for a replacement HD though... and I might still look into what might be out there and compatible. :>

Anyways.... *whew*.

Yeah, backups are a good thing to have! I finished a round of backups not long ago, myself. I wish you well in your search for a hard drive =0)
