be careful out there

*mmmmph*
I just went online to do a periodic check of the Filtered Spam, and there was the largest collection of viruses I've EVER seen... DOZENS of them... ;P
I looked at one and it seemed to be the SoberWorm one... if this is an outbreak right now, be extra careful...
A couple friends have experienced some problems this week... I have to wonder if that's what they caught... :/

Remember the Big Six of Safety in Windows:

1. antivirus
2. antispyware
3. firewall(s)
4. backup(s)
5. restore points
6. disable inline layout display in Outlook

best of wishes... and winghugs where applicable.

You forgot number seven...

7. Buy a Mac.

Heh! One of my wife's clients actually believed that Macs don't get viruses, so she didn't have to take any of the above 6 steps.

Needless to say, her Mac was riddled with 'em.

Whew! Thanks for the update--I deleted those six things right away so that I wouldn't get a virus!

;D

I recently bought Panda Anti-Virus, and damn it's effective :)
It detects everything!

I feel unloved in the virus department - not a single one has landed here yet...

:-D

Thank you for update.

Thanks for the tips, C!

Actually, I think #6 should be... don't use outlook.

Seriously. Don't.

There are LOTS of alternative email clients out there, that aren't as full of back doors and security holes as Outlook.

And #7 - update. Install those patches and security updates!

OMG! :o

Actually, number 7 is one that should be in use all the time:
Common Sense. Viruses are out there, folks, thinking that one
won't get into your system is wishful thinking at its silliest.
Realizing that you need protection is the first thing you gotta
know!
