I just spent a day counting on PC Relocator to migrate a customer's old computer to their new one. No go. ;P
It's pretty much worthless. So much for the so-called review which was supposedly 3/4 positive. Or maybe this was in the 1/4 percentile.

But we did everything it said, and multitudes of different ways just in case. Tried via parallel (it's first recommendation), then serial, then network.... and eeeeeven though the network I setup was working fine, and I could move files manually, this was supposedly going to save time and trouble, and automate much of it. bleah.
All would go well until the final step, at which time it would simply quit after a few seconds. Every time.

So then there's the temptation to go for their higher cost editions, as if maybe those would really work.

naaaaaahhhh.....

If you're ever going to migrate an old drive to a new one that already has windows on it, I'd say don't bother with this useless software. If you get a blank destination drive though, you probably can only do a full ghost imaging like this, or just basic files and settings this way. *sigh*

Anyone knows an easier or more useful method, feel free to leave a note for the benefit of future generations ^v^ ..

Try Acronis' stuff. It's much cheaper and I've never had a problem with it. (Their True Image software includes a disk cloner that's worked to a T the two times I've used it).
