LJ display anomalies
Sep. 22nd, 2002 04:10 pmWhile I've found a workaround for some consistent LJ crashings (don't go back to previous pages unless I stop loading a current page), I've noticed that some of the display themes won't format properly. I've accepted that I can't use my favorite display (magazine format) to view my Friend's page any more, as with some people's journals, in puts an inordinate amount of empty scrolldown space in the display :/ I wonder if this is because of different LJ apps folks might use to post their notes, but it shouldn't really matter.
So far, "Refried Paper" seems to display the best, so I guess I'll stick with that for now.

Date: 2002-09-25 06:41 am (UTC)Just one more thing: How can you say of a browser that it is fast? Opera also advertises with the claim to be the fastest browser on Earth, but I find that rather silly. The speed of loading a webpage is determined by your connection and the speed of the server you're reaching, not the browser.
Hi Timwi! *scritch scritch fedders*
Date: 2002-09-29 10:06 pm (UTC)Ah :) Well, what I mean is that IE4 does not reload a page automatically every single time I hit the back button, or return to that page over and over again, unless I ask it to. This way I navigate faster than any other browser I have tried.
I still haven't gotten a chance to experiment with Opera yet though, so maybe it is faster yet!
Granted, the loading of a page itself is a combination of speeds between internet services, but I was just referring to the browser activity itself. :> *warble*
Hope all is going well with you!

Okay, well, nor does Opera. :) What you're referring to is an annoying behaviour that is typical to Netscape.

Now the folks I know that use it, do because they like the mail built in to it, or are Linux users and got used to it. I gotta try that Opera one of these days :>
Also incidentally, I have changed my theme to 'generator', since 'refried' still had a refresh bug in IE *scritches ya*.. :>
