Here is one of the best pages I've found explaining all the subtleties of how Social Security benefits are figured: vhttps://www.thebalancemoney.com/social-security-benefits-calculation-guide-2388927

Welp I do have it coming down the pike in the next ten years or so.... but my current monthly would only be about 2100 .. so I'd rather like for this job to move that up significantly if I can, if that's possible to do, ... like if I can hang in the there for at least 2, or maybe 7 or 8 years .. :}

I have taken several retirement classes over the years. I was amazed when they said there were over 100 possibilities for taking SS. It's especially complicated if you're married. I plan on just waiting until both of us are of retirement age and then having our adviser figure it all out for us on what is the best way to maximize benefits. I would definitely log on to the SSA website and see what your current projected benefit would be. If I waited until full retirement age, I could easily be getting over $3000/mo. But at that age I doubt I will be taking adventure trips. I could afford the best quality of diapers, I bet.

Here's hoping we will always have a 'choice' with the "go", as Charmin bears might say....
