When I orchestrate these concepts in my head, sometimes they get all played out, and then by the time it's 1 a.m. I tend to abridge the message a little... ;P
but ennnnnnway.....
One of the things that evolved backwards is the telephone contact protocol. In other words, it may have worked better years ago before the onset of big time scamming, but now ore than ever, it seems like the Caller should be the first one to say hello, with an introduction, ...instead of waiting there in silence for the answerer to say the first hello.
No wonder kids these days prefer texting!
So now people have to screen their calls more if they don't want to be bothered with scammers...
Another thing that is bass-ackwards is delivery and stock handling. Seems like the people one hires Specifically for handling delivery of packages should be taking a higher level of care to their designated task. But no... whether it's stocking a warehouse or carrying mail, it seems that many of the ones we trust with extra care, actually have less care than one would hope.
What brought this on, was that I just bought something at the hardware store that seeeeeemed ok, until I got it home and opened it up, and 5 or 6 broken parts tumbled out of the box ;P
Probably none of this is news to you, but I just felt like writing it down to work it out

Date: 2022-05-06 05:49 pm (UTC)I do screen all calls these days, which probably will lead to me missing some of them, but eh. Another trick that I've learned is that the automatic call software seems to have a flag to see if you say "hello" and pause, or "hello... I'm not here..." like you'd get in a voice mail announcement... so any time I do not IMMEDIATELY hear someone say something after I say hello, I hang it up right then and there. If it's someone human they'll call back. I've never been called back by a scammer. :-P
Also being sure you're on the DNC list. I'm 100.0% certain that I was on it 10+ years ago, but when I went to make a complaint about a call the government said I couldn't make a complaint because I wasn't on the list. :|
Anyway, good luck!!
