Hmmmm! Ah, I guess this is why!.... :D

1) At one point, I wanted to get a nice folding 10-speed that I could take around in the back seat of the car without needing a rack, so I found a really nice folding one on Amazon for only around $100! I put it together and used it quite a bit... though some of the adjustments do come loose more often than I'd like, so it's in semi-retirement until I can figure out how to tighten things down better.

2) This one is an 18 speed standard racing bike I got from my dad over 25 years ago. It's very light and rather nice, except that it sits ya a few inches higher than most bikes, and therefore it's hard to mount/dismount, and I've fallen with some very painful injuries just with that maneuver! ...so it's not my go-to preferred bike.

3) My good old 3-speed Schwinn from high school :> I gotsa get this one fixed up before/if I use it, so right now it's just nostalgia.

4) This is a $40 kick-around used junker that I got in hopes to use most often going all over the place (after my other junker was stolen), but alas it's not all that comfortable, so I dunno... this one would be the first candidate with which to part. And that stolen junker was so much more comfortable! *grrrr*

5) Interestingly, for just twice as much, I found a brand new $80 12-speed at Wal-Mart, and picked it up. It has a nice shock absorber on the front wheel, so that's nice. It's a bit heavier than the junker so that's nice, but still not the greatest in comfort (ride position leans far too forward).

So there it is... I don't really have an ultra-comfortable solution right now, and that's probably the main reason why I have so many at the moment... still in pursuit of that comfy junker that was stolen, I guess. I'd probably trade two of the above for one comfy bicycle.

Great collection! I still have my Raleigh from when I was 15. It’s out rusting by my shed.

Oh Noes! I've lost quite a lot of stuff due to rust and water damage, just because at that point in life I didn't have the access of better protection for it..
I sure hope you can preserve and restore it, if you'd like to..
*hugs*

I’ve considered that, but just don’t have the desire. I bought that during the 10 Speed craze, and had the dealer swap out the standard handlebars and remove the fenders to make it look less domesticated. I eventually put the fenders back on it but rarely rode it, even at college.

Here it was in 2016 hanging ‘safely’ in the same shed my Russian Leather was discovered. I didn’t realize how bad things had gotten there...
