Sheeesh....
There's now so much to do what with online interacting/reading etc, that any time ya want to veer off and catch a movie or spend some time hangin' out with a friend, it means cuttin' out tons of stuff and trying to catch up the next night.. ;/
Or more likely just givin' up on some past and doing the best to stay up with the current stuff...

Don't get me wrong.. I love both, but it's just too crazy -much to do in one day...eeeesh!

One semi-solace that a friend told me once (lanakila), is that one can look at it like this... the world is full of newspapers, but you aren't required to read them all.

It helps a little, but I still prefer not to miss a lotta the ultra good people & stuff! :}

Pretty much like yours :o) I try to keep RL out in front and use lj for recreation and catching up on my friends here. I don't have a lot of journals to catch up on, though.

It's somewhat ironically appropriate that I should come around to this a mere fortnight late. ^_^; Admittedly, that's not so much lack of time (though certainly, keeping up with LJ does take quite a bit! I usually spend around 1-2 hours a day), as just me being particularly withdrawn sometimes. *sigh*

Still, the beauty of LJ is it isn't time-critical, and it's perfectly normal to spend a bit of actual time composing replies, without one's eloquence being artificially constrained. ^_^

Welllllll... not toooooo time-critical.. maybe not as much as say Twitter, where the entries of the past get farther and farther and harder and harder to pull up... ;P

But one of my friends (Expy) pointed out that LJ *did* actually change their code to screw over the aggregating page so that it no longer aggregates further back than about two weeks of two hundred entries, so beyond that you'd have a much more laborious task of catching up...

I don't know about you but I always get the guilts not having read everything people I know post. This is perhaps why I don't Facebook, twitter, blog or tumblr XD
Also I don't over do my friends list :3
