The Association

This song just made me tear up a little... had not ever seen it live... but it's from a 45 rpm record my dad gave me when I was about 5 years old...

...plus, it's just a lovely lil' nostalgic song in its own right..

I have that track on the Warner Brothers "Loss Leader" double LP album "Schlaggers".

Back in the '80s, I had friends who were big Association fans. I got to see the band in North Hollywood when the original members re-united: excellent concert in a small venue. Don't remember if they sung this song, but they performed all their hits and a few of their personal favorites.

It is amazing now to look back and think that, in the 60's, The Association and The Mamas and the Papas were totally accepted as 'rock' bands. These days, they would be far outside of anything considered 'rock'. Love their stuff.

Aww, that is a nice song! You won't believe me, but just before reading this post, I was humming to myself "Windy"!
