ok.. I couldn't quite put my plumage to bed quite yet...

Now that I have a paid acct., I was thinking of maybe just adding a few slight extra touches to my style, so that links are easier to click,..so I go over to the Paid Features page, and among them I see this LJ Singles search option..
So, wha the heck... I give it a try..
Male Seeking Female between 18 and 48 in California.
Results... SEVEN.

Huh????

The main page says there are 1,675,262 Live Journal users, and among them there are only seven females that fit these criteria? *scritches headfeathers*

So just for fun and curiousity I changed it to female seeking male. FIVE results. FIVE available males for all you chix out there in that selection of 1,675,262 LJ users.

So I'm thinkin', whassup with that?? ;P
Are all the rest of the 1,675,262 - 12 = 1,675,250 users some other species or gender I haven't heard of? :D

I was surfing through my friends’ journals and came across this entry.

Although Morton’s reasoning was best, another reason is, since the LJ singles option is open to users with paid accounts only (and permanent and early adopter accounts, if that’s the case), That would eliminate all but six percent of the LJ population, or about 100,000 people.

In my late night oblivion, I didn't recall the numbers that flew by when I first looked at the option... it said that only 3670 LJ users actually fit into the listings, probably due to all their settings being in harmony and such. Still seems rather small..and rather tiny to be of any significance for really utilizing this feature as of yet, unless one wants to go the long distance relationship route.
Not that that isn't feasable.. just not the first choice if at all possible.

Who knows though, maybe there's an eskimo out there in penguinland who would be the perfect match! :D
Maybe I should ask Opus if he knows a nice available inuit femme...
