Putting http://www.livejournal.com/users/(NAME)/(POSTNUMBER).html?style=mine in the URL box seems to let one read anyone's LJ in the style you choose, if theirs makes it too tiny, too dazzly, etc...

If any of you have encountered this too, maybe this can help ya as well :>


In other news, hopefully one more day and I'll be caught up with LJ reading and then try to tackle some email and other things too *mops feathered brow with a damp cloth*... :>

Yeah, some of the LJ's are just illegible due to microfonts and low contrast color schemes, sigh...

I am a bit confuzzled why someone would seek to put all the effort into crafting a blog entry only to have it be unreadable due to eye candy-itis?

Did you guys get any of that rock 'n roll earthquake yesterday? Some of my motorhead friends in San Jose(!) felt it, that's a big one to be felt that far north!

Heh.. I was up late, too. Left me kinda bleary this morning, and me with a house to clean. Uck.

Do people's entries turn out illegible even on your friendslist? There's only a couple that change on mine, and I have a nicely legible style... except for the fact that my monitor faces the open-curtained patio door and I can't see through the glare... *ahem* What changes do happen are mostly the shape of the font, not the size or color.

Actually the Friends View works just fine, yup *wags*
It's after a comment is posted, and then I click on the link to see if the posting worked, that's when the style goes back out of control.... so if I hit the stop button in the browser and put in the ?style=mine append, then I can read the page as before, without having to highlight the whole page to do so .. *fluffle* :> Most look just fine though, yup!

Yup, there's an option in Personal Info that adds the "style=mine" when following comments links from the friends page. Very useful. My guess is many folks have eyes that are better than mine so they can read those tiny low-contrast fonts. :)

When I run into that problem, I just move up to the "Edit"
function and click on "Select All" wherever I'm reading!
That reverse-highlights all the text, making it a lot
easier on the reading eye. :)

I find pages can load faster and it's easier to see all the buttons and icons etc by using the url change though... *scritch scritch*

My journal has a black background with glowing yellow letters... I put it like that cause it is easyer to read for me. I mostly just read my 'friends of' page myself and don't go to peoples pages directly.

I find that 'white' and other light colors make my eyes hurt... just like a bright day does to me. Its the light bluegray of my eyes you see... I don't do well with bright lights.

I also prefer reading the great big Friends Page link *wags*
After posting a comment though, it bounces the viewer to the owner's page style, and that's where I encounter the view problems..
Also, when recently trying to catch up with a month away from reading, the big Friends page link was too huge (several hundred back!), so it was easier to just read posts from friends' actual pages.
