Welp, I tried to comment on a comment tonight, and was greeted by an obnoxious GIANT space-wasting over-coded box, trying to show me all my icon choices at full size (instead of the standard list), and, an Add Comment button that doesn't work right. ;P
It appears they are trying to follow the Facebook and Twitter coding trend by breaking their own working code.
So far I can still read the Friends Page normally, but I have to post links into Internet Explorer to comment...
bleh.

Date: 2011-12-22 09:47 am (UTC)So I've been testing this rotten new site interactivity in a newer browser, and it still stinks. Big Time. :|
Finally bit the bullet and made a DreamWidth account... we'll see if I have to use it (if LJ isn't fixed) ...

Date: 2011-12-23 03:59 am (UTC)So, in your snapshot and in the LJrelease news, did you see the
- Subject area missing?
- New "add Comment" button code?
These are both pretty significant in my world, and apparently in many others' for a variety of reasons.
The code is (it appears to be) an attempt at "Google Plussing" up LJ. The leading spaces are now twice as wide (and desolate in appearance), but more mportantly, functionality is gone in my older Firefox (which I love because it essentially never crashes, and using NoScript is even nicer than using AdBlock imho.
I now have to go to Internet Explorer (or another later chancy browser) to get the LJ interface to work, and I hate that.. mainly because Firefox is the BEST in the way it saves files, in that it names them better than the other browsers, PLUS, it remembers my last setting (html or full or text), which the others don't.
Plus the missing Subject area is a major loss for many. I know
I'm glad you noticed the Preview button gone too. I'm fairly certain they are trying to Google-ize and FaceBook-ize and Twitter-ize LJ. Next will come the ENDLESS scrolling page code I'll bet.
Plus hey, go to your main page www.livejournal.com and check out the nifty we now get to see as PAID users. ;/
