I guess I really needed a profound and emotional movie today. It really hit the spot.

I bought an SD card at the store, and there was a free movie download in the package. I had only seen snippets of it before, and it's one of those cultural landmarks, so I got it.. Groundhog Day.

Wonderful.. ^v^

Well I only saw Casablanca and Titanic last year.... *peep*

Sometimes you wait a while before the right time .

I still need to watch Casablanca and re-watch the maltese falcon - but I have seen Groundhog day so often, I sometimes think I'm stuck in a loop myself :D

"It's cold outside today!" "It's cold outside every day!"

I still wonder what some of our fellow furry animators could do with a "Groundhog day - as seen through the eyes of the groundhog" movie ^.^

Ah yes! .... come to think of it, I don't think I know anyone whose persona is a groundhog :D

It's really Bill Murray's deadpan snark persona that makes the movie. A lesser actor would have hammed it up or dragged the proceedings down, but he managed to be snarky at the right time and serious at the right time.

Plus, the psychological adjustment he had to go through would ring true for most people, if they were suddenly confronted by a consequence-free life.

Some bonus, too, in that I'm quite familiar with Pittsburgh, and actually know someone who lives in Punxsutawney, who couldn't wait to get out of there.

True Nuff!... Mebbe that's why it's wending its way into the classics zone... *chuckles about the Punxutawney puzzle....* :9

Something to think about: Someone ran the analysis of the movie to figure how long doing all these things would take Bill Murray's character. 50 years was their minimum estimate.

I guess if that were so, he aged pretty well! ;D
