Well, the good news is I ...found my Ray-Bans! ... we don't splurge on too much, but over five years ago we got some nice sunglasses, and I got these sweeeeet Ray-Ban Leather II Polarized shades... super excellent lenses, and sorta the Men In Black look :D ...I was at a friend of mine's graduation and she said that for all the pictures with me in them, people were asking her if she had a secret service bodyguard at her graduation :D
They went missing for 3 days and I finally found them ^V^ *tailwags*
Bad news is... I've been calling in for Jury Duty all week, and then I *forgot* to, on the very last day.. so now I have to do the whole rigormorole all over again... ;P
*bleh*
------
Welp, tonight is my annual backup-all-my-emails-for-the-last-year to my good ole Eudora Pro for Mac, v2 program ..LOL ... it's still sleek and simple :D
I have gone to just viewing webmail alla the time, and backing up after a while... used to be every quarter, but now pretty much once a year seems to work out ok.
So now.... off to reading LJ n stuff ^v^ ... Good Wishes, you all!..
*puts talon in cozy slippers, kicks back in the nest, fluttery-adjusts the wings, and digs in....*

Date: 2011-02-05 06:39 am (UTC)I've been lucky on the jury duty thing. Been called twice, and avoided the "draft" when they called out the names. *wipes brow*

Date: 2011-02-05 09:52 am (UTC)I did buy some Body Glove ones as a replacement, but alas I discovered they aren't polarized.. d'oh! That really helps with glare...
and heh.. *whispers*.. one time at an outlet store I found a GREAT pair of polarized generic shades... TWO BUX!! Used 'em everywhere for years tho and beat 'em up really good, before I knew how fragile these things could be..

Date: 2011-02-05 07:07 am (UTC)Ah, congratulations on the Ray-Bans. I've never had a pair of sunglasses worth more than about ten dollars, myself, but that doesn't help me avoid feeling stupid for losing them.
I think I misunderstood something about the Jury Duty news. You failed to call in to the courthouse today and so go back to the eligibility pool?

Date: 2011-02-05 09:56 am (UTC)See my note to Gilmore (above)... (I scored a great pair of specs a LONG time ago for $2, but they are quite scuffed now..)
and yep... It sez on the call center recording if ya miss even one call in day, you have to start over, and that's what they told me today when I checked in to say I was sorry... :/

Date: 2011-02-05 11:39 am (UTC)I don't know anything about the US jury duty outside of what i get from TV shows(A bad source of information i know.). But i can at least guess as i have had been called to sit on a UK jury about 10 years ago. :)

Date: 2011-02-06 06:47 am (UTC)Yep, these things were about $125 nearly a decade ago (tho I got em for $110 since we were buying other glasses for me mum at the same time)... and now just about all of their polarized ones are like $150 and up!.. 8|
...(right now though they are having a 30% off sale if ya need some! I found out cuz I went in there just about every day after I lost 'em to check out replacements...) .. :}
As for jury duty, eh... it's kind of a con here ;/ ...if it was more legit, people would be more anxious to do it. Instead it fosters grief to those who could be good jurors, and breeds leechy power-hungry people who look forward to it.... A lot of people are good jurors... jus' sayin' the system(s) really work against here.

Date: 2011-02-06 06:49 am (UTC)My bruddah has had several, but these were my very first ^v^
Biggest thing with glasses I've had to learn, is not sit on them... hehheh! Too often I used to leave them on chairs...

Date: 2011-02-05 04:33 pm (UTC)Jury Duty-- yeah, unfortunately, the last day is really the only day you need to call in. I don't know why they even bother to make you call in/keep days free: they only have the jury pool one day of the week. In my area it is always either Thursday or Friday. The nice thing is that virtually -nobody- gets out of it these days: even self-important business men/women have to sit through it, however loud they squawk. I think the only people I've heard get a pass are sole-caregivers for invalids. At least it's not nearly the chore it used to be sitting around all day: with iPods, internet movies, tablets and even plain ol' books, you can easily keep yourself entertained for a day.

Date: 2011-02-06 06:55 am (UTC)Yep!.. It's a teeny bit of a splurge, but the glass is SO GOOD. I bought some Foster Grant polaroids last year for $15, and they aren't quite as clear... even WITH the brand name.
*nods re JD*
The one time I spent nearly all day sitting there, I actually did some drawing... just like in the ole days! ^v^ Last time I was on the list though (last year), I never had to go in and didn't forget to call any of the days.

Date: 2011-02-06 06:59 am (UTC)It keeps all the attachments tucked away in a folder and completely foils viruses and malware.
For a second choice I'd recommend Mulberry, but it's a bit complicated to setup.

Date: 2011-02-07 11:09 am (UTC)Wow Eudora, I remember that :D
The trick to get out of jury duty is to say your predjudiced against all races, creeds and religions :)
Here's a piccy that reminded me of what sillies birdies can be.
