That drawing looks absolutely amazing. What interests me though is how he starts the drawing- he starts drawing the mouth as it's the only thing he ever draws, without really putting any depth in it. The appeal of the painting comes with the coloring, shading and detail, not the core of the drawing.
Freaky huh? It's like just some roughed out sketch that doesn't even seem to have a lot of geometric form at first... but it just keeps getting more and more life with each layer 8>
Ooohhhh! Interesting video - a tad bit fast for a tutorial though ;P
I shall try somethng like that eventually - in about 30 years or so ;) It's good to watch people who know their stuff, as it points out ways of doing things. Thanks for posting!
He goes directly for the highlights and shadows. No much messing around with building geometric form for him. Looks suspicious but some artists really are that good. ;)
*nodnod* .... I agree about your 'looks suspicious' comment... I sorta felt that way too since he didn't seem to have all that much form beneath it.... but then I did recall having seen many accomplish amazing final results with just the way they could give things such polish in their closing act... so I s'pose it's possible.. yep!... That's sorta why I felt this one had worthwhile merit to post... :9 ... *wagtail*..
arrrgh...
