Matt White Magnificence
Jul. 17th, 2009 03:02 amOne of the most completely satisfying albums I've bought in a long time is Matt White's "Best Days" album.
Ya know how most albums will have about half (or fewer) of the songs something you really like, or can play all the way through? Albums with *all* the songs being very listenable are a rarity, and for me this is one of them.
Even with some recent, pleasant discoveries (like those Knack albums I posted about), there are a few I skip through... but as usual, the good ones are really good! and I still consider them to be worth it... but this Matt White one is really one of the rare treasures of completeness, in my book anyway. Maybe you'll enjoy it too!
Interestingly enough, I found out about this artist while watching the closing credits for Shrek 3, and have been enjoying the song from there (Best Days) for quite a while before I checked out his full CD, after following a link on YouTube. The Shrek soundtrack does have a slightly different version on it than his album, since Shrek was targeted for the kidlets (slightly different mix of the song instruments, and one line changed "lying naked under the covers" instead of "hanging out with one anothers")... but they are both just as good :D
Here is a compilation I put together with clips from all eleven songs on the album... if you've got about 3 minutes, give it a listen.... and best of wishes!
