Just a heads up for ya all....

Michael's Art Supplies stores are having some terrific sales this week, some as high as 60% off, and they're handing coupons out like Halloween candy.. ^v^

And some news for ATT/Cingular users or cel phone shoppers in general...
I usually use a Sony/Ericsson phone as my main one, but years ago mom wanted a phone as well, so I have a backup phone in that regard also.
Well, it's an old Nokia 3100 series, ultra simple, and the battery konked out on it... so I went looking around for replacements today. Last time I did this (about every three years) the battery was about $12 I think... but this time they were telling me around $55!!! ...

So here's the news!... just by fortune they are having a sale this week on Palm Centro phones... ONE PENNY! (through Radio Shack)

How could I not? :D

...Just puttin' this out there in case any of yas who haven't gone iPhone yet, and might want sumpin' nice without goin' quite that far .. ^V^ *wags*

They realy ARE handing out coupons @ Michaels like they're going out of style! I shopped there yesterday, and while they've been giving out coupons with purchase lately (usually 20-25%), yesterday I got one for 40% off! Nuts!

It is literally across the street and down three blocks or so from our condo. :) Very convinient!

I'm trying to rack my brain about what I should use the 40% coupon on... I don't think I need anything that they have, and the things I DO want they don't always sell!

Eh, maybe I'll get a kit of different colored sculpys or something. :)

Hmmph, if only Michaels had been giving out coupons when I was working on my outfit during the summer...and I wish they sold fabrics to begin with...

As for the phone, my 2 years with my previous phone were up in April or so, so Sprint was offering $150 off with an upgrade. I thought about going with a Palm Centro. However, I'm trying to hold off on buying any sort of phone with a QWERTY keypad. I'm trying to avoid becoming a "Crackberry fiend," which I fear would happen with such a phone (not necessarily Blackberry). Instead, I went with the Sanyo Katana DLX. This is the 3rd Sanyo phone I've used, and most of the same features and menu options work the same way with each iteration; they just keep adding more to it. I like my phone; Sprint customer service, on the other hand...not so much.

*shrugs* Oh well, guess I'll see what's out there 2 years from now...

Yep... WalMart still seems to be best at inexpensive costume fabric, unless you need more than just the basic stuff, and for the the downtown district is necessary..

Ten-4 on the Sprint customer service also.. I had Sprint yeeeeeeeears ago when they first started and it wasn't too great... and then hearing that insanity where they just Dumped their complaining customers instead of addressing the issues.. well, that's the main reason I haven't been willing to try 'em...

Good to hear that for the most part you enjoy yer phone tho!

Yup, mr. smartyfluffs... ;>
I don' rilly mind in this case though... I've been shopping the options and other carriers for a few months and haven't really found anything better than my current service and price ($35/mo).. this new phone also can access a lot more of the newer towers too they say, so there should be near nil dropouts on the calls.. so far it's doing better at home too, where I got only two bars before, it's gittin' all five. *purrr*

I've been going over the manual yesterday and today, and it's got a lot goin' for it... just have to decide if I want to take the leap and setup the voicemail on it... it's always been an outgoing number only, and I can still text no matter what, ... not sure what to do.. ya can't go back once ya set it up they say..
