update reset
Nov. 5th, 2007 01:52 amsorry Mako! I wish it were true that updates always helped.. but heh!.. in my experience, updates sometimes bring quirks and trubbles.. :/
I decided to be a good boy and do all the latest updates with everything on my new machine, but the last two updates of Firefox have been.. troublesome *sigh*..
Ever since versions 2.0.0.8 and 2.0.0.9, there have been crashes, mostly with other programs when Firefox is running simultaneously.
So, with dreaded button ready to push, I went ahead and uninstalled it, and put the most recent previous version I could find back on the machine.. and voila... no more crashes. (...wish I still had 2.0.0.7, but I only had 2.0.0.4). I've seen reinstalls fail, so I am thankful this one worked. I do like Firefox and I rely on it so much, so that's why I was more worried than usual.
In fact, two of its add-ons are outstanding... FlashBlock and DownloadHelper. The first keeps away all those flash ads that normal image blockers don't, and the other helps save movie files viewed. Both highly recommended!
Take Care, you all... *wags feathers* ^V^
