i think i figured it out
Sep. 27th, 2006 11:56 pmI'm a little down tonight, and I don't mean warm soft fluffy bird down.. :/
We got a new kitty a couple weeks ago, since mom's mourning for the one we lost in June had diminished sufficiently that she wanted to try another presence in her life again.
So it's this maybe one year old young calico-tortoise-shell ladycat, which had a bit of a cold. We were told to wait two weeks after the spaying to do anything, and the cold still hadn't gone away, so we had her looked at a few days ago, and they kept her for treatment.
Those first two weeks we had her, she was very demure and purrrgly and soft and, well, unobtrusive. Even gave her a name with the word 'purr' in it. Today when we brought her home, she was very energetic, which is fine too.. we figured, feeling a lot better probably. We played a lot with the string like we've been doing. She ate. She used the box like she always does.
Then tonight where she usually sits purring on the couch while I read on the computer, she jumped my hand and tore it up pretty good.
I feel like I've lost a friend :/
Yeah, we've had hyperactive spastic cats before, but not that often. I don't relish the thought of being on the lookout for Kato while walking around the house. Works great in comedy movies... not in RL. ;>
Anyways... so I'm a little bummed out this isn't the cat we thought we had... unless it was just a fluke.
*sigh*
