Australia has a lot of note-for-note tribute bands. The Beatnix (formed in 1980) and The Beatels (formed in 1996 ... AFAIK by two former Beatnix members) are probably the best of The Beatles tribute bands, and both use the correct vintage instruments and amplifiers.

I wonder if they have the same problems that eventually caused the Beatles to stop touring -- over-enthusiastic crowds simply drowning out the limited volume available from those vintage amps. Apparently it got to the point where the Beatles couldn't even hear themselves play over the screaming.
