Here is a collection of image goodies I collected on my ol' traveling camera recently. With this particular camera, I used to use basically just one computer to get these off this camera (due to an oddity with the card/reader), but I got new reader that has fixed it, so I got the pictures off, at last...
A surplus electronics store going out of business *sad sigh* in Pasadena had this art in the window, because a cat lives in the store, and people were constantly asking 'what is gonna happen to the kitty?' (they say kitty will have a home)...

This is painted on a school wall the next town over...
Near that electronics store in Pasadena is a restaurant with an interesting combo of mexican and italian food...
One gas station in town had an Aflac ad at the pump for a while...
I went to a computer show last week, and saw a Newton for sale.. hehheh! The thing is HUGE!... Imagine taping FIVE Treos together and carrying that around :D ...
An ancient Route 66 hotel near us has this transformation mural in one of their lounges (built from 3 snapshots)...
I hope you enjoyed the show :}

Date: 2007-12-20 01:19 pm (UTC)When a word was suspected of being misspelled, a selection box would appear allowing you to select a potentially proper replacement from a list of words. If you continued typing, the box would disappear and your word would be left alone.
The iPhone actually does the opposite by showing a single replacement word and then auto-replacing the word in question unless you manually close the selection window. The assumption is that there are no longer so many false positives when doing spell checking. The switch actually enables one to type much, much faster...
Unless you're using some esoteric lingo. ;)

Date: 2007-12-20 03:39 pm (UTC)I love the bald eagle picture, naturally!
The Aflac duck pumping gas was cute!
The bird transformation into a human was also nice too! (Poor ancient hotel on Route 66). Skreep!
Thanks for sharing, C!!

Date: 2007-12-20 06:15 pm (UTC)I sympathize with you losing your electronics surplus store. We're about to lose Boeing Surplus -- they're closing up the retail store and going web-only. I'm going to miss it.
