gettin' on up
Dec. 5th, 2006 03:59 amFor months at the gym, I've been setting the aerobic machine to shake it off at around 700 calories per hour, but today.. everything just felt so right in there... decided to ramp it up to 1,000 calories/hr.. first time in quite a while.. *accomplished warbles*
Now if I can stretch it out longer and longer, and keep it steady, I might strip off a few of them extra lbs that have been stackin' up, while keeping the plumbing content also.. :9
Say, folks... :>
Remember that feeling, when ya were a kid, and could just run and slide and soar in circles and surges that seemed to know no bounds? *cheeerp*
Can you think back to when that ended...? Didja ever want it to end?
Welp.. I'm no Jack La Lane, but I think that's part of the secret to being/staying young, inside and out. Motion.
Our brains ride on the body.. that's our vehicle. It's transitioning to these sedentary lifestyles that sucks away a lot of our youthfulness.
:| So.. if you can, try to remember how to plan a part of your day, like when you never had to plan part of your day.. like those grammar school times you would just get up to live for that playground. Spending 6 hours a day there... is where our fountain of youth was. If we get a half hour of just *walking* these days, we're probably lucky... ;P
Planning is the key to motion.. and Motion is the key to youth. Say it like Yoda, if it makes it more fun and palateable :D
*winghugs or pawshakes yas!* (as appropriately delegated) :>

Date: 2006-12-05 05:52 pm (UTC)I have to agree with you. Most people even my age will not allow for activity/ walking and it shows. Granted I could probably stand to actually get to the gym and use my membership and eat better :D

I'm with two gyms.. one I started back in college, and I've been a member so long, and go so seldom to that one, they spontaneously slashed my rates so low I can't leave! :D

Date: 2006-12-06 02:48 am (UTC)What I'm shootin' for is to keep limber and lithe, with cardiovascular activity, so that I can hopefully bounce off the walls (safely) at age 150... :D

Date: 2006-12-06 08:50 pm (UTC)I am a youth who engages in quite a bit of motion (working in a nursing home can be quite the work out) but um.... I still lack all that boundless energy and whatnot that everyone seems to associate with being young.
It's overrated.
but congrats on the uppage of the calorie burnage.
good luck.
