Just heard about this.. big house in rural area of Georgia, WITH guest house, both fully air conditioned, for around $110,000 .. 8> *boggle*

Prices are like that usually because there are no good JOBS anywhere nearby. GA's economy (outside of Atlanta) is pretty low on the wage scale, and unless you're looking at resort or oceanfront land, it's not terribly expensive (in today's market). Just don't move out to the middle of "Nowheresville" if you need to WORK...'cause it just ain't there---

Low real estate prices are usually an indication of a sagging economy in the area (i.e. more are leaving than arriving). Great if you love isolation and don't mind the inconvience of that. Not wonderful for safety and security though. The nearest big hospital is probably 80 miles away in Atlanta. :P
