I've been wanting to do this for some time, so here off the cuff, is a leetle list of which I feel currently could be considered my top ten favorite songs...
10 You Do or You Don't ... Lindsey Buckingham
9 Anchorage ... Michelle Shocked
8 Crazy Without You ... Pure Heart
7 Wolfgang ... Pete Droge
6 The Angels Listened In ... Crests
5 Lodi ... CCR
4 The Way the World Would Be ... Glenn Yarbrough
3 I Should Have Known Better ... Beatles
2 Truly Do ... David Lindley
1 Summer and Lightning ... ELO
There's probably a lot more ELO, CCR and Beatles that could go here too :> I'd highly recommend checking out any of these that ya haven't heard of yet, also. Of course this sort of list changes throughout one's life, but this is a pretty good summation of 'em for now :>
Hope ya enjoyed!...
Now how about yours? :D (or comments/questions on these songs are welcomed too...)

Date: 2003-02-01 05:44 am (UTC)Yep.. I toyed with adding some classical stuff too, but I generally can't remember the names of like Vivaldi's Concerto number 422 in D major Opus 42 *chuckle waggle*
I do love a chorale record I've got with Christmas Carols of Europe.. there is a link to a sample of one here in a previous entry.
*looks some more..*
Everly Brothers... heavenly, so much that they did.. and that harmony..
Simon and Garfunkel.. sad, but a great song.. more great harmonizers..
Sarah McLachlan ... mmm, nice.. I know someone who barely even likes music, who even likes that song..
Vincent...Don McLean ... ah yes.. that's a great one too, and there are two more of his that I was considering for the list..
GreenSleeves ... um, well.. this song I gotta say, is just too bleak for me.. almost entirely in minor key, it's just too depressing.. *peep* :|
Volare....Dean Martin ... hehheh! Another one of his I like is "Memories are Made of This"
Fly Me To The Moon... Hey! Have you heard Al Hirt's version of this? I like that'n the best..
He's Everything you want...Vertical Horizon ... Cool song *waggletail* ..Just not quite ready to put this on an alltime fave list for me .. :>
Elvis ... he hadda lotta great stuff *peep*.. I figured I'd try to pick just one though. Same for the Beatles.. or I might just take all Beatles to the island! I'd probably hardly ever listen to MM tour or the White Album tho .. I think "Beatles '65 (LP)" is my favorite, or maybe "Abbey Road" :>
Cats in the Cradle ... This is Harry Chapin.. a very very nice song, yepyep.. I tried to make the list things I could listen to endlessly though, and I think that one would beat me down after a while..
Kansas ... A lotta people love these folks.. I really should check out more of their albums :> *warble*
Elton John .. lotsa good stuff too!
Beach Boys... hehhehheh ;> hey now.. they had a lotta cool stuff! I'd like ta hear more of it remastered in sTeReO .. :9
Fleetwood Mac... yeep! There's *another* group of whose greats which I could probably fill up an entire list! I guess I was trying to not have any artist duplication.. like just one of theirs to leave room for more.. Guess that's why I picked the Buckingham piece :>
