The Good with The ...
Oct. 12th, 2005 12:34 amah well, the not-so-good first..
I've been working on getting things totally organized around here, and one of the projects is the garage.
Unfortunately it pools up when it rains, and today I discovered that a bag of 1984 Olympics goodies
from a ceremony where I was a photographer... was mostly destroyed :/
Ironically the things in the best shape were some commemorative vinyl records in there. Had it been tapes
or CDs, they'd likely be mud, too.
Thank goodness
chrissawyer and
yasha_taur have given me some olympic eagle goodies
recently which sorta lightens the weight of the loss. ^v^ (thanks youse all!)
And in the good news dept., I also found some missing things in there!
One bag (dry this time) had several CDs I've been looking for for yeeeears... favorites compilations
which I used to keep handy and play lots!
Also, there were some keen old pictures.. grandma taken hang-gliding at age 80 something, some 3-d pix of
entertainment at Dizzlyland, and some of this cat we now have as a kitten! So now we can better estimate
its age.. just about 16 I guess.
This wacky cat used to wake ya up back then by latching on to my nipple!
*yikes!*
That may feel nice for da ladies, but for a guy it's yeeeeOWCHA! That was the first cat we've ever encountered
like that, and needless to say, it was swiftly divested of that habit... ;>
And good ole
makovette sent me some extra RAM for the computa, so now it doesn't drag its
heels along like molasses in winter.. thanks buddy!
Anyways, here's hoping I'll get to see Serenity and the WereRabbit some time in the next couple weeks...
then it's jury duty on Halloween... gack! Talk about a trick... ;P mebbe it'll be brief and thus a treat
instead ^v^
Take Care, y'all!

Date: 2005-10-12 12:52 pm (UTC)It's amazing how well the inflatable seat cushions from the games held up, too.
yes, those are great!
Date: 2005-10-14 11:45 am (UTC)Mostly pamphlets, a hat, book and autograph stuff, catalogs, notes... and these records. Luckily they still play fin, just a little weathered now...
I'm pretty sure I have some other stuff still too which is just fine... this stuff was like theeeeee last last last stuff I had to rush out of the old house, and alas, much of it got tossed into a big stack.
Thanks for the comment, mascot sir :>
