about the oddness of the new LJ update page... 8| weird!!
At least a half dozen people I've seen mention it..

If it's possible to turn off CSS in your browser, that might help significantly... does over here.. and until (and if) they fix it, that might be a helpful solution.

Fix it??

I love this new format. maybe they could make the old update an option - like [livejournal.com profile] martes stilluses the opriginal user interface. But I think the new one is just great.

I didn't realize there was a new format ... I've been using an offline client to submit my stuff. That way, well, I don't have to deal with server screwiness. Plus I get spell checking live, during the writing.

that's cool

SO far it really hasn't bothered me either...
This was mostly a response post to last night's LJ reading and the approximately half dozen WTF posts regarding the formatting.

I turned off CSS a while ago (and thus miss some page alterations), since
1) a number of styles otherwise show up as black text on black backgrounds
2) a number of styles otherwise show up as an explosion of nearly-impossible-to-read alternating striped colors
3) a few styles otherwise cause a crash

For me functional and fast is better than flashy and crashy. So far I haven't been able to test the new update interface to make a call on it though.

I was gonna try one of those a while back...I downloaded it, but I guess I never could find a super-compelling reason to try it.. :>
