Major Platform Issues
Mar. 19th, 2024 12:52 amI wonder if this is the month.... when some foundational platform is causing a lot of functions to break in my long-working long-standing U.I. stuff :|
- We have new timeclock software at work. It's half the size of the previous software... but it takes 2 to 20 times longer to work. And is buggy. And is crashy. On my 4 year old phone.
And as for the computer....
- Twitter stopped working with my legacy version of Chrome, but still works in Opera.
- One of the webmail U.I. stopped working yesterday. I have yet to test it on a newer machine, but none of my browsers on this machine would load it anymore.
- Just now, I'm finding that loading my image icons here won't work at the moment.
- F.A. no longer will load any images into FireFox that are older than March 3rd, though I can still see any of those, even if they are not cached. F.A. loads fine in Opera.
All this happening within a week makes me wonder if some foundational code has been updated across the interwebs that affects browsers. ;P
Nothing is so constant as change.... goes the old saying -_- .

Date: 2024-03-20 08:31 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've even encountered problems like that on relatively recent browsers/systems. Pretty annoying. I guess it's asking too much that people just leave well enough alone rather than adding features nobody asked for.
