Okydokey... I've been sorta wondering, so I finally did a tally here: Of the 238 peeps in my friends list here, 22 still post regularly, and 21 still post or comment rarely (about twice or so per year).

That's usually enough for about 20-30 minutes of reading per day, which isn't a big burden. If more people could see that it wasn't a big drain on their time, maybe more people would post. Then again that catch 22 would be a bit more reading to do... but hey, the LJ format is really worth it for detailed diary/blogging.

As I've mentioned now and then, I bought the lifetime package, so I'll keep participating here as long as I can :>

I've definitely noticed that LJ seems to have fallen out of disinterest for furries.

Once every week or two I figure I’ll throw up my paws, turn tail, and not look back. Then something clicks that I want to remember and to share for whatever reason and I post again. I do love the format and ease with which to blog :D

My fl has never been very full, and many of the folks I followed have long since gone. But here you are and here I am :o)

I like reading and commenting, but have gotten lazy about writing. I would like to change that, but haven't managed to.

I'm still around, just that I have been rather busy lately. Though I do check my inbox here every day to see if someone has written something to me.

Whereas I'm very good about writing and reading, but am just terrible about commenting, including answering comments other people leave.

I remember "the good old days" of LJ when it would take over an hour to read all of my friends' posts. Now I get done in about 5 minutes, Some days...one.

Yeah, it is an interesting sociological research effort to see why it is that people left... I guess partly short attention spans, partly competition from other journal platforms tied more to media... partly competing journal or "status" platforms (facebook, etc.)... I don't know. And partly the couple of ownership changes which chased people off.

I still like the format/concept, but I'm biased of course. ;)

I think the Russian takeover had a lot to do with it. I know there was a mass exodus after that was announced.

Maybe.. I was thinking that activity was more recent (mid 2010's) but I guess the "real" sale was in 2007.

I've fallen off the wagon a bit for writing, reading and commenting on here. :(
