Really getting tired of these Belkin network routers ;P ... Belkin used to be a well-trusted name in cabling, and as far as I know they still are... but combined with the crappy ISP here, their *routers* just can't seem to handle it, so I'm trying NetGear again. I prefer D-Link but I don't have one of those handy at the moment.
Had problems with NetGear ones many years ago, but maybe they have improved. We use them at work and they aren't perfect, but they certainly handle a lot more traffic needs than I have at home. Luckily the programmer at work gave me his old NetGear today (cuz I sure am tired of buying these Belkins!)
Hopefully it will be happy with our nutty internet provider signal.. sure has been a few rough months since around August... ..feh...

I have a simple, cheap little router by Medialink that's worked flawlessly for me since Day 1. Its only problem is that it has to wear sunglasses! ^^ Its LED indicators are needlessly bright and they shine right in my eyes, so I took these optometrist shades and fit them onto the router to cover the lights. Enough light shines through that I can still see the router's status, but it just doesn't sear my retinas like before. ;)

Some designers do seem to love their LEDs.. I had (well, have, but now it's in the storage room) a Maxtor drive that had an activity light. Nothing unusual there, true. Except this was (a) nightlight brightness, (b) would flash when active, and throb slowly when idle. o.O;

Seems like quite a gap in reviews thereof: how well they hold up to large numbers of persistent connections. A couple years ago, I saw one (can't recall where, though) which did just that, noting when each crumbled under the "load". The results ranged broadly: from a few dozen connections at worst, to 32k or so for the best.
