The 3 R's ... er, 4 Rs of Springtime movies...

1)Rango
2)Rio
3)Rapunzel (Tangled)
4)rabbit (Hop)

These are the movies on my list to try for the next few months :>

Rio and Hop aren't out yet (but the Rio website has fun to watch dancing bird snippets!)

I saw Tangled at the $2 theater, and it was rather enjoyable.. a nice narrative piece actually! I just caught Rango, and ya gotta go in with a whole different frame of mind.. the characters and voices are done reallllly well, but the pacing was a bit strange. Still, it was obvious the filmmakers were just out to have fun, so I tried to reset my outlook and take it in much less seriously :>

I liked Rango quite a lot. The story pacing is a bit weird, yeah. I wouldn't give many points for screenplay originality. But Rango was the best visually-detailed of any animated movie I've ever seen. You can practically taste the individual bits of grit covering each character in that movie.

Metalbeak was quite amusing, though, particularly the gratutious Good, Bad, and Ugly reference ("You son of a {screech!}") and the Oh Crap expression right before the water tower fell on her. ^.^

The pacing of Rango wouldn't seem quite so strange if you look at nearly the whole thing as "it's all in his head". ^.^

Considering the whole thing was a Hunter S. Thompson meets Spaghetti Western riff, it made alot more sense like that.

I almost wanted to see Hop... until I saw a trailer showing the candy-shitting joke. That's where I draw the line. :-(
