Okay, wazzup wid dat...
Apr. 1st, 2007 05:27 amNo April Fools.. here's a serious teeng I been wondering a long time.. and what's amazing to me is how far-reaching this is...
Why does peoples get a website, and not protect their name by getting the matching .NET and .ORG and a few others maybe? *scratches head*.. :|
It's not like anyone has to feel like they're alone either...
Elvis.com lost the .net and .org to some Belgian fellow...
Coke.com covered their tushes.. but Pepsi.com didn't...
and the biggest goof in all internet history, our own government secured whitehouse.gov ... but not the other sites.. and at least one of them became a porn site for many years! LOL...
And so I ask myself why.. when it's only a couple or so dollars more to get the other sites, why don't more people and organizations do it? *big blank-eyed look* We pay hundreds to protect our cars and homes, why not take a small insurance policy on our web identity? 8|
Just one of them things that puzzle me... *peep*
In case you ever have designs on a web name, I strongly recommend getting a few just like it, if you want to protect your identity or your brand.
And here's hoping your April 1sts all go well and without too much quicksand! ^V^
