Hello.. :>

Tiz generally known that to get a file list for a folder/directory on a Mac, it's just
1) Select All
2) Copy
3) Paste in a Text Document

and on Windows you do the DOS thing, C:\folder\folder\folder\dir >files.txt

So um... has anyone at Microsoft thotta this thingy yet? Now that Windows has been able to show Details in folders/directories for a very long time (such as in the music dir it shows Artist, Album, Genre, etc) ... Is there a way to Save a List of the directory window as seeeeeeen, in HTML ??

Doing dir >files.htm still just saves a text file.

Thanks in advance if ya have a solution! :}

EDIT: I wonder if this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379) will work? Has anyone ever tried it?

You can take a screen snapshot by doing the Alt+PrintScreen ... then pasting the image into word or something ... but it's not quite the same.

There used to be a PowerToy that did this, but I don't see it on the Microsoft website any more (although there are plenty of others that activate things like virtual desktops and the like). There's an application called DDFileCatcher that allows exporting pretty much every possible attribute and piece of metadata (including hundreds that Explorer doesn't show) from files into Excel, text, Word, and a bunch of other formats, but that might be overkill for your purposes. You can also get this capability in an application set called "Power Tools" from Creativelement Software (creativelement.com) that includes a bunch of other neat little toys.
