daht nyet framewerk a'la II
Mar. 31st, 2006 10:55 pmmore info for the lost souls beleaguered by this creature they call, the .NET Framework by Microsoft.
bleah.
Yes I know I know.. it's supposed to be *good* for us.
eeesh... well, it would be NICE to have them tells us what it's changing when we download, install and implement the thing, instead of having to discover by doing... which more than likely leads many people into quicksand instead.
bleah.
Well anyway... be prepared for impaired functionality in many things that used to work before.. yes oh yes, because it's "protecting" you. ;>
Like .. the rest of the computer still blaming the firewall in its pop-up notices when things don't work.
Like many more "Firefox cannot find server" errors, having to hit reload many times to get a page to load.
Like .. needing to go into (not the firewall, but) the .NET Framework wizards to adjust zone accesses, which, by the way, you will need to do if you want some of the automated installs to succeed.
Like using CTRL-ALT-DEL more often to locate the items which must be given specific or general permissions.
Egads.. I'm almost considering dumping the thing. *rolls eyes* ;P
For the sake of protection and education, I'll probably keep it for now though, unless it gets in the way of something I can't solve or if it really breaks something it has no excuse breaking.
Best o Wishes you all.... *fluffs feathers and wingwaves* :>
